Chateau de la tour Chollet
It is a long trip from Normandy to the Bordeaux Region but travelling on French roads on a Sunday is easy and we arrived at our Hotel on the out skirts of St Emillion in plenty of time for a ‘POP’ (pink on’t patio!)
Back to work - we make a visit to Chateau de la tour Chollet the Bordeaux wine on our list we stock 2 of their wines and here today we have tried the new vintages.
Kirsty and Paul are just celebrating their 10th Anniversary here, having left the UK and spent a year on a vineyard in Cahors, learning the winemaking trade. They then purchased this winery in the Bordeaux region, where not only have they nurtured the vines and made the vineyard 100% organic but renovated the property and a gite which they let out to visitors to the area. Busy times and learning the trade as they go along with help from a oenologue expert.
Fingers crossed that 2016 vintage will be a good one, the grapes are ripening well and after a slow start due to the excessive rain at the beginning of June, they should be ready to harvest the first week of October.
